About Katie:
Katie H. Kopperud is an associate in the firm of Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager, P.A. She received her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2006. She also received a Bachelor's degree from the College of St. Benedict in 2003, majoring in Political Science and Spanish.
Ms. Kopperud was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court in the State of Minnesota and all lesser courts of the State in 2006. In 2007, she was also admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. During law school, Ms. Kopperud was a member of the Negotiation team, and participated in the National competition, after placing second in the Regional competition. She joined the Aafedt law firm as a law clerk in 2004 and became an associate in 2006. She has experience in all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, including insurance coverage disputes, employer liability cases, subrogation issues, and civil litigation.
Ms. Kopperud was a lecturer at the 2007 Workers' Compensation Seminar, presented by the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education, speaking on the issue of professional responsibility in the profession. She also has experience as a lecturer in private seminars for employers and insurers. Ms. Kopperud mentors law students through the UST mentor program. She has been a guest professor at St. Thomas as well.
Ms. Kopperud is a member of the Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Associations as well as the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.
