About Shannon:
Shannon A. Nelson is an associate with the firm of Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager, P.A. She received her J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 2001. She received her Bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse in 1994.
Ms. Nelson was admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota in 2001. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Nelson clerked for the Honorable Dale B. Lindman of the Second Judicial District (Ramsey County).
Afterwards, Ms. Nelson joined the law firm of Hansen, Dordell, Bradt, Odlaug, & Bradt as an associate attorney where she defended employers, insurers, and insureds in workers' compensation and general liability cases. In December 2004, she joined the law firm of Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager, P.A. and has continued to practice in workers' compensation and general liability. She has experience in all aspects of workers' compensation litigation.
She has presented Continuing Legal Education seminars (CLEs) on workers' compensation to the Hennepin and Ramsey County Bar Associations.
Ms. Nelson is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County and Ramsey County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association where she sits on the Workers' Compensation Committee.
In the past, she sat on the Second Judicial District Ethics Committee where she investigated ethical complaints brought against attorneys, and provided recommendations to the Board of Professional Responsibility. She also volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem for Ramsey County and for the Volunteer Attorney Network of Hennepin County.
