Amy M. Byrne

Amy M. Byrne

Amy Byrne is an associate with the firm Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager, P.A. Amy received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota Law School 2019. She received her Bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in 2016, majoring in Law and Society, with an emphasis in Government and Judicial Studies with a concentration in English and Legal Studies.

While attending law school, Amy was a judicial extern for the Honorable Joan. N. Ericksen at the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She also worked as a director within the schools civil practice clinic and held two editor positions on the Minnesota Journal of International Law.

Oral advocacy is one of Amy’s strengths for clients. She received an award for her advocacy in a regional moot court conference and has argued in District Court in two complex dissolution trials that involved conflicting evidence and cross-examination of witnesses. As a student attorney, she litigated on the other side of the “v.” and represented workers in their unemployment appeals with administrative law judges. She was successful in each of her client’s appeals and that experience has shaped her perspective on the do’s and don’ts now that she represents the defense. Amy has a detailed and personable approach to her practice, examining legal intricacies that can help resolve client issues at the forefront.
