Kristine L. Cook is an attorney at Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager, P.A., bringing extensive experience in workers’ compensation litigation and public-sector claim handling. She represents employers and insurers in all stages of workers’ compensation matters, drawing on a diverse legal background that spans private practice, judicial clerkships, and state agency work.
Kristine earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2009 and graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with dual majors in English Literature and Philosophy.
Before joining Aafedt Forde, Kristine was a regional workers’ compensation coordinator for a state agency, where she served as the employer-employee liaison on complex claims, focusing on ADA and FMLA considerations, light-duty accommodations, and collaborating on litigation strategy. Her prior private practice experience includes handling workers’ compensation defense and subrogation matters, conducting conferences and hearings, appearing before the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals, and co-authoring amicus briefs on behalf of a legal defense association.
Kristine’s background also includes judicial clerkships at the district court and appellate levels. Earlier in her career, she practiced in workers’ compensation and insurance defense and other civil litigation at several firms.
Outside of work, Kristine loves reading, all things history, and spending time (preferably outdoors) with her husband, kids, and dogs. She currently serves as a city council member for the City of Willernie.
